Our Schools

The Catholic Education Office (CEO), Sydney is responsbile for the leadership, efficient operation and management of the systemic schools which educate almost 63,000 students in 147 parish primary and regional secondary schools in the Archdiocese.

Within the  Archdiocese there are congregational or independent Catholic schools which are run independently by Religious Congregations such as the Jesuits, Loreto and Sacred Heart Orders.

The Archdiocese of Sydney does not cover the whole of the Sydney metropolitan area. There are two other dioceses in the Sydney area - the Parramatta Diocese and the Broken Bay Diocese, which administer Catholic schools in those areas.

The map on this page shows the area covered by the Archdiocese of Sydney and the borders with the neighbouring dioceses of Broken Bay, Parramatta and Wollongong.

The Archdiocese of Sydney is the largest of the three dioceses in the Sydney metropolitan area.
