The Catholic Education Office, Sydney is responsible for the leadership, efficient operation and management of the systemic schools which educate almost 63,000 students in 147 parish primary and regional secondary schools in the Archdiocese of Sydney.

The Executive Director of Schools is the chief executive of the CEO, Sydney.  He is assisted in this task by a Leadership Team consisting of the three Regional Directors, the four Central Directors, the Head of Religious Education, and the Senior Education Officer in the Human Resources Team.

The CEO is charged with the implementation and management of the policies determined by the Sydney Archdiocesan Catholic Schools Board (SACS) Board.
