Implement principles of adult learning .
  • Clarify the objectives of the session .
  • Know and acknowledge the context of the program .
  • Recognise the participants' learning and the range of experience in the group .
  • Invite discussion and feedback .
  • Have activities that engage the mind and spirit .
  • Use personal experience where appropriate to enhance the objectives of the session
Empower Participants
Engage participants in responding positively to the program .
  • Acknowledge the purpose of the program ie to form and to transform/enhance participants' knowledge, skill development and professional practice .
  • Build confidence and competence to carry out the relevant role .
  • Use affirmation as a means of establishing a positive learning environment and gaining rapport with participants .
  • Ensure an interactive, participative focus at all times .
  • Invite evaluative comments to enhance future presentations
