4/4/07 - Easter cheer spreads to community

Students from St Gabriel's Primary Bexley helped spread some Easter cheer to nursing home residents this week.

The students brought hand-made baskets to elderly residents at Bexley's Eddystone Nursing Home as part of their school's 'Reaching Out To Others' program.

Principal Steve Darcy said the students and their families worked very hard to prepare, decorate and fill their hand-made baskets.

"The students wanted to donate dozens of chocolate Easter eggs to those long-term residents who will have no-one to visit them on Easter Sunday," he said.

School captains Christian Ciprani and Isabella Puentes said it made me them feel really good to spread some Easter cheer.

"It's a nice experience to give Easter eggs to people who have no one else," Isabella said.

"The look on their faces when we delivered the eggs was priceless," Christian added.
