Learning

Early Learning

The image of the child as they embark on their learning journey is captured in the words of the poem by the exceptional early childhood practitioner, Loris Malaguzzi (1920-1994).  Loris refers to the child as being made of a hundred languages,

a hundred ways of listening, of marvelling, of loving,
a hundred joys for singing and understanding
A hundred worlds to discover,
a hundred worlds to invent,
a hundred worlds to dream.

The implications for teachers of young children presented in this poem are many and the challenges great.  We hope that the links from this page support teachers, parents and all involved in the learning and teaching of young children.
