eLearning

eLearning combines the use of electronic resources with a contemporary approach to learning. The development of eLearning is stated priority of the Sydney Catholic school system. Technology is used to enhance learning outcomes across all stages of the curriculum using the iLE@RN framework. This framework has been developed by Sydney CEO to support eLearning in all Sydney catholic schools.

The iLE@RN Framework is based on the CEO Learning Framework. The elements related to contemporary learning are refocused with an emphasis on the critical skills needed by 21st century learners. The iLE@RN framework also provides a set of outcomes for eLearning in schools. These outcomes will enable students to operate within a global learning network as collaborators and knowledge constructors.  The model draws upon the MCEETYA documents  in particular Contemporary Learning. A number of iLE@RN projects are taking place in our schools, providing opportunities for innovative and reflective practice in students learning with digital tools.

Sydney Catholic schools provide opportunities and leadership in the development of a learning community, sharing and communicating with communities of learners at a local and a global level. Learning spaces are being created to enable contemporary learning in a dynamic and engaging environment, both physical and virtual.
